T Thomas

T Thomas, Coordinator

In January of 2004, T Thomas became the coordinator for the Cooperating Baptist Fellowship in Oklahoma. He is a native of Georgia. He received his B.A. in Religion at Furman and his M-Div. at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1974. He and Kathie have five daughters.

T Thomas served as a missionary with the Foreign Mission Board of the SBC in Burkina Faso, France and in Romania from 1974 to 1992. During this time he served as Director of the French Baptist Home Mission Board, Director of Missions for the Paris Association, and Professor of Missions and Evangelism at the Seminary in Bucharest.

In 1992, having resigned from the Foreign Mission Board of the SBC, Thomas and his wife Kathie were the first Global Missionaries appointed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. They were assigned to minister to the Gypsies (an unreached people group) in Europe, India the Middle East and North Africa. T was the founder and director of the Gypsy Smith School for Evangelism in Bucharest. Among the Gypsies with T Thomas records some of those experiences.

In July 2000, T began serving as the Coordinator for missions for CBF of Florida. He was instrumental in involving Florida churches in missions by establishing partnerships with the Baptist Unions of France, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Brazil and the Bahamas. Also, during that time he assisted in establishing five new congregations, while helping CBF of Florida to grow in other areas.

In 2005 along with one of his daughters, T founded His Nets, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting malaria.  His Nets does this through the free distribution of insecticide treated mosquito nets in Africa.  In its first three years over 26,000 nets were distributed, saving an estimated 50,000 lives!  His Nets has been adopted by CBF of Oklahoma as a primary mission partner.

Stacy Pyle

Stacy Pyle, Associate Coordinator for Congregational Life & Ministry Development

Stacy grew up in southern Missouri and attended Southwest Baptist University, where she met and married Joey Pyle, also a native of Missouri. SBU was a place of education as well as ministry for Stacy. She was involved in leading several Bible studies and discipleship groups, which quickly became her passion. She also experienced overseas missions to Ukraine and India with other college students. In 2004, she graduated with a B.A. in Religious Studies, married Joey, and packed her bags for seminary.

Stacy and Joey both felt God’s call upon their lives to continue their education so they could be prepared for the ministries that God had for them. They moved to Waco, TX to attend George W. Truett Theological Seminary. During seminary, Joey and Stacy were very involved with the small group ministry of their local church. In 2008, Stacy received her Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in Christian Education.

In September of 2008, God called Joey and Stacy to serve at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Joey is the Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions. Stacy leads the new small group ministry and is very involved in the youth ministry. They were both ordained on October 25, 2009, and love serving together at Spring Creek.

Katie Thomas

Kathie Thomas, Finance/Communications

Kathie along with her husband served for 26 years in overseas mission assignments.  During that time she found herself doing many different things under the professional title of ‘missionary’ – from running a Bible correspondence school, helping new colleagues  settle into their new homes, doing finances, serving in churches and starting new ones, keeping in touch with supporters, learning new languages, standing in bread lines, mothering five daughters.  While working with the French Baptist Federation she served for 6 years as the international secretary for l’Union des Femmes Baptistes de France.

Kathie, born in Kentucky, is the daughter and granddaughter of Baptist preachers and grew up in South Carolina.  She has a B.A. from Furman University, and a Diplôme d’Etudes Françaises from the Université de Tours. Upon their return to the U.S. Kathie worked for 2½ years as the Financial Secretary for CBF of Florida. She began working for CBF of Oklahoma in Finances upon arrival here in January 2004 and added the Communications aspect shortly thereafter.  In addition she does the finances for His Nets and the Xenia Institute.

Kathie and T were active in the realization of the most recent new church start in Norman, NorthHaven Church, where they are members.  They both take great joy in the accomplishments of their five daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 4 granddaughters.
